Family+Friends Chalet

It was just as described. Definitely no Ac needed early September. Felt homey. Great private location . We had a small hiccup due to power outage from tree in power lines up the street. I called Tim and ironed out the issue quickly as well.

Tim was exactly like a host should be....helpful, checked in occasionally, but outside of that just let us stay there in peace. Thanks for the hospitality.

Place was spacious we had 8 adults staying with us and we all were comfortable. Plenty to do in the area which we did a lot of shopping, adult children went off to go to arcades, and mini golf, and plenty of other attractions in the area. Having the kitchen and grill outside we did eat it quite a bit but we also tried some of the local restaurants. The only downside was there was no AC, we did bring a portable unit so we were comfortable which in the main area. And it was a hot week during our stay! We did bring plenty of fan and they also provided many fans.

The home was not clean upon our arrival, particularly the bathrooms. The shower curtains were moldy, so I washed them and purchased new liners. The owner’s personal belongings were throughout the home, including in closets, drawers, and on bathroom counters (toothbrushes, hairbrushes, etc.), which limited our ability to unpack and settle in comfortably. The kitchen stove did not function properly, and the oven appeared not to have been cleaned in a long time and is quite outdated. Due to the lack of available storage space, we had to live out of our suitcases for the entire seven-day stay, which was challenging. Additionally, several window latches were broken, the bunk beds were old and unstable, and the mattresses consisted of two thin, 5-inch pads. We did our best to make the stay enjoyable for our children, and we appreciated the responsiveness of the property manager, Tim. Hopefully, Tim can work with the owner to address these issues. We were refunded $300.

We wanted a weekend away with family, and this was the perfect spot! The location couldn’t be better—close to all the local highlights, from shopping and hiking to Storyland, multiple ski areas, and more. The house offered plenty of space for our family to spread out, yet the dining area was large enough for all of us to enjoy meals together. We loved the peaceful surroundings, especially the soft sound of the stream in the distance and the beautiful, star-filled sky at night. The host was attentive and responsive, and the home itself was clean, warm, and inviting. We will absolutely be returning to this perfect getaway—next time for a weekend on the slopes!

Our family had a great stay here. It was clean, comfortable, and met our needs for space to hangout together, for home cooked meals together, and games. The location was great for an early morning start to hike Mt Washington and various other hikes in the area. Communication was great with the owners. We would stay here again!
